Cardiac Catheterization

Definition: Cardiac catheterization is a procedure used to diagnose heart conditions. During this surgery, a catheter is directed to your heart where dye is injected. This allows for x-rays to be taken of the coronary arteries, heart chambers, and valves to examine the pressure of the heart chambers. This procedure helps determine the cause of heart failure.
