Anomalous Coronary Artery

Definition: Anomalous Coronary Artery is a heart defect in one or more of the coronary arteries of the heart. This defect is present at birth, and involves an abnormal origin for the coronary arteries. It is normal for coronary arteries to have two different sites for the aorta. In ACA, the two arteries originate in the same location causing problems with coronary ischemia and, consequently, heart attacks.
